Highlight
of This Tour: Meteora Monasteries
1st Day - Departure from Athens
and transfer through the towns of Thebes, Livadia (may have a quick
stop) and Arachova to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel
of the world. One and a half hours aprox at leisure at Delphi to
stroll the picturesque village, enjoy the breathtaking scenery from
the slopes of mount Parnassus till Itea, take pictures and enjoy
a " Greek Coffee" or follow the guide to guide you at
the Delphi Site (Entrance fee is included for the Ancient site).
In the afternoon departure through Central Greece and the cities
of Lamia (may have a quick stop), Trikala to Kalambaka, a small
town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by
the Meteora Monasteries.
Overnight stay in Kalambaka (Meteora).
2nd Day - Visit to Meteora
enjoying a unique and most impressive scenery of ageless monasteries,
containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing
between Earth and Sky atop huge rocks. Return to Athens passing
by the monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae.
Arriving in Athens early evening.
