Kalafatis Beach is the next to the last of the southern beaches before
rounding the tip of Mykonos Island toward the remote, not easily accessible
eastern beaches. The distance of Kalafatis Beach from Mykonos Town is
aprox 10 - 11 KM. You can reach Kalafatis beach by public transportation,
the bus originating at the intersection near the old port behind the
museum or rental car - motorbike. One of the earliest established beaches,
this beautiful bay and long sweeping Kalafatis beach has become famous
to wind surfers who enjoy a good offshore breeze. Hotel accommodation
is available together with various water sports including diving. Many
small restaurants can be found in the area often specializing in local
seafood dishes.
