Name days in Greece and of course in Milos are celebrated more than birthdays. Go to the various feasts (Panigiri) which take place the day before the name day at the Saint's Church. Normally, in July Milos organizes a "festival" with various cultural events, including music. As to music, a local group of musician is giving birth to a series of interesting events, throughout the year. Watch for the various ads posted in the shops and....on the electrical columns.

There are sufficient public telephones in Adamas and Plaka. The roads are good, but beware with motorcycles!
The bus system has been improved to reach more beaches.
